Kathleen Wendell, 63, of Fort Dodge passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. The memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday March 11, 2013 at Corpus Christi Church. The visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Kathleen was born in St. Paul, MN on January 30, 1950 to Thomas and Joan (Glatzmaier) Gebhardt. She grew up in Fort Dodge and graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1968. She married Mike Nottger in September of 1969. After marriage they lived in Germany while Mike served in the US Army. She worked for the Iowa State Extension office but was most known for owning Dirty Nellie’s Deli. She married Pat Wendell in December of 1993. She loved spending time with her family and driving in her convertible with her son. She enjoyed going to Colorado and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. She also enjoyed camping, golfing, playing cards and crossword puzzles.

Kathleen is survived by her children Jennifer (Glenn) Matuszek of Loveland, CO and Brian Nottger (Lindsey Vote) of Somers, IA; step-children Todd (Mary Jane) Wendell of Ogden, IA and Dean (Lisa) Wendell of Fort Dodge; 6 grandchildren; her siblings Barbara (Randy) Wisthoff of Kansas City, MO, Mary (Mike) Yetmar and Terry (Timm) Dooley both of Fort Dodge and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Pat; her parents Thomas and Joan and her nephew Matthew Goodner.

Memorials may be left to the family for their further discretion.
