HUMBOLDT – Virginia Hope (Joiner) Hundertmark, 80, of Humboldt, Passed away March 5, 2013 at the Humboldt Care Center North in Humboldt. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday morning March 9th 2013, at St Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode, Iowa, with Pastor Steve Bliss officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday March 8th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery Livermore.

Mrs. Hundertmark is survived by her children Kirk (Ginger) Hundertmark of Livermore, Brett Hundertmark of Bode and Lail Hundertmark of Long Beach, CA. Grand Children; Jason (Melanie) Hundertmark of Newton, Samantha and Ferris Hundertmark of California. Crista Jensen of Livermore and Abby (Taylor) Kunert of Renwick. Great Grand Children; Bryce and Grayce Hundertmark of Newton, Ethan and Brooklyn Kunert of Renwick and Georgia and Harmony Brandow of Livermore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ferris Hundertmark – June 1998, Infant Brother Gerald in 1941 and brother Vernon Joiner who just passed away February 20th 2013 in Banning California.

Virginia Hope (Joiner) Hundertmark, the daughter of Lewis Gerald Joiner and Geneva Beatrice Johnson in Humboldt, was born April 22, 1932 at Humboldt, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from the Humboldt High School class of 1949. She attended the Luther College at Decorah, IA graduating in June 1953 and then taught school in Humboldt for a year. She married Ferris Hundertmark on June 20, 1954. Virginia was active with the farming operation and also was a substitute teacher at the Twin Rivers school system. After Ferris and Virginia retired from farming in 1984 they continued to operate an antique store on Main Street of Bode call “Antiques and Things” that they opened in 1980.

Mrs. Hundertmark was a member of the St Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode and the Lydia Circle.

She enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities, playing cards, drinking coke, collecting coke memorabilia and enjoyed playing the piano along with reading her Kindle.
