Johnny, “Bus”, Miller, 88, formerly of Mason City, died on Thur-sday, Feb.28 at Carondelet Village Care Center in Saint Paul, Mn.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at the Willwersched Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave, St.Paul, Mn. 55105. Private Internment at Fort Snelling Cemetary.
Johnny was preceeded in death by wife Florence, parents Harold G. and Mary Miller, and brother Charles (WW II).
He is survived by daughter Barbara Maclin ( Alfred), son Steven Miller (Sheri), grandchildren Nicolas, Kristen, and Erin, and sister Beverly Nitzke of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Ft. Dodge, IA.
Johnny graduated from Rockwell City high school in 1942. He was a member of the 1942 Rockwell City boys state championship baseball team.
Johnny enlisted in the Navy during World War II, one of few survivors of the USS Palmer, sunk in the invasion of the Philippines in 1944.
Johnny and Florence lived in Mason City for 50 years before relocating to Minnesota.
