Nordic Choir to perform at St. Olaf

The Luther College Nordic Choir will be in Concert at 7 p.m. March 9 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge. The Fort Dodge Senior High School A’Cappela Choir, under the direction of Joe Svendsen, will also perform. Composer Dr. Z. Randall Stroope will direct both choirs in an original work commissioned by St. Olaf. The concert is free and open to the public.

Nordic Choir, founded in 1946, enjoys national and international acclaim as a premier collegiate choral ensemble in the United States. Nordic is directed by Dr. Allen Hightower.

Nordic Choir has toured extensively throughout the United States, including performances at Lincoln Center, New York; Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.; Orchestra Hall, Chicago; Orchestra Hall and the Historic State Theatre, Minneapolis; the Ordway Music Theatre, St. Paul, Minn.; Walt Disney concert Hall and the Crystal Cathedral, Los Angeles; and the Mormon Tabernacle, Salt Lake City.

Nordic Choir has made numerous concert tours of Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, Russia, and eastern Europe.
