YETTER – Evelene Holm, 85, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with burial in the Lake City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.

Evelene Eva (Tannehill) Holm was born on a farm North of Yetter, Iowa on March 23, 1927 to John and Nina (Smith) Tannehill. On August 17, 1946 she was married to Warren Holm in Blue Earth, Minnesota and they moved to the Holm family farm located two miles East and one-half mile North of Yetter. Evelene and Warren have six children; Mary Copp of Parker, Colorado; Michael Holm of Yetter, Iowa; Tony Holm of Austin, Texas; Annette Lange of Rockwell City, Iowa; Rick Holm of Caspar, Wyoming; and Elaine Aden of Carroll, Iowa. They also have 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In June, 2003 Evelene retired from her supervisory position in the Housekeeping Department at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City where she had worked for 27 years.

Evelene loved to cook for her family, enjoyed displaying her antique doll collection which she lovingly shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelene encouraged her colleagues to excel through challenges and adversity.

Evelene loved people and she looked for the best in those she met throughout life’s journey. Evelene is survived by her husband, Warren Holm of Yetter, their children, and her sister, Ruby Fink of Yetter, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Leslie Holm, and nine brothers and sisters.
