Margaret A. (Messerly) Pastrick, 71, of Fort Dodge, started her new journey to heaven surrounded with her family by her side on Tuesday, February, 26, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with burial in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Friday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Margaret is survived by her husband, John “Bud” Pastrick. Her two daughters, Paula (David) Elias of Ottawa, Illinois and Regina (Scott) McCarty of Marysville, Indiana; one son, David Kee of Fort Dodge; and a step-son, John Jr. Pastrick of Indiana. Margaret was also a grandmother of ten and a great-grandmother to thirteen children. Also surviving are two brothers, Harold (Bonnie) Messerly of Fort Dodge and Mark (Carolyn) Messerly of Hinsdale, Illinois. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Margaret Messerly; two sisters, Pat Tracy and JoAnn Calverly; one brother, Robert Messerly and also by a grandson, James Asa Steenbergen.
Margaret A. Messerly was born May 21, 1941, in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1959. Margaret was a homemaker, staying home taking care of her family. From 1969 to 1998 she lived in Plano, Texas. On April 2, 1987, Margaret married John “Bud” Pastrick and in Oct of 1998, they moved to Fort Dodge.
