HOUSTON, Texas – Thomas McNeilly, of Houston, Texas, died at his home February 9, 2012.

Tom was born September 30, 1930 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, son of Andrew and Almina McNeilly. He was raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1947. In 1951 he married Denise Carroll of Lu Verne, Ia. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Corwith, Iowa. He served in the United States Air Force at Alex Air Base in Alexandria, Louisiana from 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1954. He resided in Houston, Texas since 1956. He retired from Monarch Paint Co. in 1996.

Tom is survived by his wife, Denise, of 61 years and children: Kathleen (Billy) Eppley and their daughter, Sarah; son Steve (Marla) and their children, Cody (Loan) Couch and their daughter, Alexis; Rachel and Melissa; daughter Linda McNeilly (Joe) and her son Chris Baker; brother Robert (Eleanor) McNeilly of Fort Dodge, IA, sisters: Vera (John) Hunt of Des Moines, IA. Mary Troup of Keizer, Oregon, Elizabeth Coppinger of Fort Dodge, IA; and Marie (John) Myers of Orofino, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Andrew and Almina McNeilly; brothers, James, Richard, John, Kenneth, Edward and Leo and several nephews.

Visitation was held at Klein Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 13. A mass of Christian burial with Father Orrin Halepeska officiating, was held on Thursday, February 14, at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Houston.
