MURNICE GREEN

AUBURN – Murnice Green, 93, died Saturday February 16, 2013, at Shady Oaks Care Center, Lake City. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn. Burial in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Auburn. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Lampe Funeral Home, Lake City.

Murnice was born on March 18, 1919 at Lanesboro, Iowa to parents Robert William Green and Margaret Grace (Frost) Green. He graduated with the Lohrville High School Class of 1938. He served in the United States Navy during WW II on the U.S.S. Lassen, an ammunition ship, from 1943 – 1946. On June 28,1942, he married Elma Harriet Brown at Auburn, Iowa. They farmed near Auburn for 44 years, and when he retired in 1991 they moved into Auburn. He was married to Elma for 70 years.

Survivors include his wife Elma, 2 daughters; Suzanne (Tom) Quinn, Reinbeck, Iowa, and Mary Jane Green of Boone; Iowa. 2 grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Kiene, of Janesville and Eric Quinn of Cascade; 2 great-grandchildren, Chole Kiene and Joseph Kiene of Janesville, Iowa.

Murnice was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Daryl Green, and one sister, Phyllis Collins. Online condolences can be sent to www.lampefuneralhome.com.
