TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Dorothy B. (Core) Templeton, 92, of Tallahassee, Florida, died January 26, 2013. A memorial service, postponed for distant family and thanking God for Dorothy’s life, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at the United Methodist Church, Knoxville, Iowa. Dorothy lived the first eighty-eight years of her life in Marion County, Iowa.

Dorothy is survived by her five children: Jane Gibb (and late husband William) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Martha Wright of Tallahassee, Florida; Dr. Joseph (and wife Claudia) Templeton of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Alice (and husband John) Burke of Lansing, Iowa; and Dr. Mark (and wife Dr. Pamela) Templeton of Indianapolis, Indiana. Among her eleven grandchildren are Carolina Gibb Schultz (and husband David) of Phoenix, Oregon and John (and wife Lisa) Gibb of Vienna, Virginia. Three siblings, fifteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Dorothy’s husband Hugh died in 1989.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Dorothy’s name may be given to the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Marion County Habitat for Humanity, or the Heifer Project.
