LAKE CITY – Robert Morrow, 87, died Saturday, February 09, 2013 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Lake City Union Church with Rev. Betty Weidert officiating and burial in Cottonwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.
Robert is survived by his wife Phyllis of Lake City, children Linda (Wilmer) Yttredahl, Mike (Lori) Morrow, and Mark (Bethany) Morrow all of Lake City and LanetteTasler of Nebraska, 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and brother Harlan Morrow of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Monica Morrow, brother Donald Morrow and sister Beulah Janssen.
Robert Earl Morrow was born June 10, 1925 at Lake City to Elbert Dee and Mabel (Dreeszen) Morrow. He served in the US Navy for 3 years and was honorably discharged, and on July 17, 1947 he was married to Phyllis Bornhoft at Vail, IA. Robert worked as a self-employed carpenter and he farmed for 20 years, he then went to work in maintenance at Shady Oaks Care Center and had a lawn service also. He was a member of the Lake City Union Church and Lake City V.F.W. Post #1899.
