HUMBOLDT – Marietta Berkhimer, 76, of Humboldt, passed away February 4, 2013 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 1:00 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Marietta is survived by her husband, John Berkhimer of Humboldt; son Michael Berkhimer of Humboldt; daughter, Beth Sullivan of Edina, MN; and her special niece, Jill Eblen of Wasilla, AK. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle, Mildred and Bob Sneefus; brother, Eugene Morgan; and her sisters, Grace Wiederight and Beulah Dodd.
Marietta Morgan, the daughter of Delbert and Irene (Dunscombe) Morgan, was born March 10, 1936 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was raised and educated at Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School. In 1952, she was united in marriage to John Berkhimer and the couple made their home at Humboldt where they raised their two children.
Marietta was an active member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Humboldt where she was active in the church choir, Women’s Fellowship, and on the church library board. She was also an avid Bridge player.
