OTHO – Everett M. Peterson 87, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Stratford Nursing & Rehab Center in Stratford. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the United Methodist Church, Harcourt, with Pastor Karen Young officiating. Burial will be at the Callender Cemetery, Callender, with Military Graveside Rites by the Greenfield-Hartquist American Legion Post #699 of Harcourt. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Everett is survived by his sons, Bradley, Brian, and Brent Peterson, all of Otho, and Blaine Peterson of Bertram, TX; grandchildren, Jillian, Jason, and Dillion; and sister Florence Fleming of Redondo Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife Iva Mary Peterson; his parents, Martin and Alice Lamberg Peterson; brothers, Maynard and Floyd Peterson; and sisters, Evelyn and Lucille Peterson.

Everett Martin Peterson was born June 20, 1925 at Harcourt, and graduated from Harcourt High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 526th Armed Infantry and was honorably discharged in 1946. On June 11, 1950 Everett was united in marriage to Iva M. Heatherington in Fort Dodge. The couple established their home on a farm near Harcourt. In 1965, they moved to Otho and Everett farmed until retiring in 1989. Everett was a member of the United Methodist Church, Harcourt, American Legion, and the Webster County Farm Bureau.
