Lynx edge Gael boys
WEBSTER CITY – The Webster City boys led for just a handful of seconds Tuesday night, but it was the most important ones, pulling out a 42-41 victory over St. Edmond.
Mason Myers knocked down a three-pointer with just four seconds left from the top of the key, giving the Lynx (8-8 overall, 8-6 in NCC) their fourth straight victory.
David Flattery’s desperation shot at the buzzer missed for the Gaels (12-6, 11-5), who lost by a point on Saturday, as well. Flattery scored a team-high 14, while Robby Burke added 12.
Myers finished with a game-best 16 points, adding three assists. His triple gave Webster City its first lead of the game.
Boone Myers added 11 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots, while Nick Olmstead also scored 11.
In the first meeting of the season between these two in Fort Dodge, the Gaels pulled out a 44-42 victory.
St. Edmond returns to action on Thursday at Pocahontas Area. Webster City hosts Humboldt Friday night.
