5 burglaries under investigation in Palo Alto Co.

EMMETSBURG – The Palo Alto Sheriff’s Office is investigating five burglaries that took place early Monday morning.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, the first call came in at 12:34 a.m. Monday at Ruthven Meat Processing in Ruthven. A sheriff’s deputy determined a person or persons entered the property through a window, causing approximately $400 damage.

At 3:06 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of a vehicle being rammed into Sparky’s Convenience Store in Mallard. When a deputy arrived, the west wall of the store was pushed in. Damage to the building was estimated at $10,000.

At 5:51 a.m., a break-in was reported at the Silver Lake Cafe in Ayrshire. The fourth burglary was reported at 7:21 a.m. at the Blue Moon Bar in Ayrshire. At 9:18 a.m., the fifth burglary was called in from the Community Center in Ayrshire.

At 9:45 a.m., the sheriff’s office took a report of a stolen 2005 silver Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab truck that was parked in the 1100 block of Campbell Street in Ayrshire. Eyewitness reports from Sparky’s identified the possible suspect vehicle as a light silver or white extended cab truck.
