YETTER – Harlan Reynolds, age 72, passed away Saturday, January 26th, 2013 at his home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Sac City with burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.

Harlan George Reynolds was born on May 24, 1940 in Lake City IA, the eldest son of George and Helen (Rieman) Reynolds. He attended school in Farnhamville and graduated in 1959 from Rockwell City High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Kathy) Bailey of Rockwell City on May 26, 1963. Their union was blessed with two children; Diane and David.

Harlan was born to farm, day dreaming of fields in the spring during elementary school. He was always helping out and part of the family farming business. At 18, after his father’s death, he finished his father’s farming contract. He soon moved to Yetter where he farmed his family’s land for the past 54 years.

During the last twelve years, Harlan was proud to be a Credentialed Director for the Calhoun County REC. He was also serving an interim term as Director for the Corn Belt Power Cooperative. Harlan truly enjoyed the relationships he built through this association and had so much fun serving in this capacity.

Those left to cherish his life and memories include the love of his life, Kathy; their children Diane and Ken Williams of Polk City; David and Jen Reynolds of New Hope, MN; grandchildren Sydney and Austin Williams; Grace and Abigail Reynolds; brother Gordon (Leanne) Reynolds, Early; sister- in-law Rita (Gary) Holly, State Center, IA; brother-in-law Ronald (Jamie) Bailey, Bonner, MT and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Helen Reynolds, parents-in-law Merle and Mildred (Poulson) Bailey, grandparents Dan and Mabel (McCann) Reynolds and H.J. and Grace (Sharp) Rieman.
