IAF holds photography contest

The Iowa Architectural Foundation is holding the third annual “Snapshot Iowa,” a photography contest for seventh- to 12th-graders. This program is sponsored by the Architecture in the Schools Committee of the Iowa Architectural Foundation, and is open to all Iowa students in these grades.

The theme of this year’s contest is Favorite Iowa Architecture. One $100 cash prize will be awarded in each of two categories: seventh through ninth grade and 10th through 12th grade. The contest is sponsored by the Iowa Architectural Foundation and Design Photography in Dubuque.

All Iowa students are eligible, including home-schooled students.

Photos showcasing favorite Iowa architecture should be black and white, 8″ x 10″ in size, unmounted, and printed on photo paper. Manipulation of photographs is discouraged. Visit www.iowaarchfoundation.org for complete contest rules.

Entries must be received by March 8, and winners will be announced after March 25.

The student must take the photo. Each student may submit up to three photographs.

Each entry should include student’s name, grade, age, signature, legal guardian’s signature and complete contact information. The student’s school name and address should also be submitted. A title, description (100 words or less) and the name and location of the subject are required.
