WEST DES MOINES – Vicki Lynn Lundgren, 54, died peacefully at home on January 18, 2013 surrounded by family.

Vicki was born on September 9, 1958 in Atlantic, Iowa to Richard and Marilyn Smith. After graduating from Audubon High School, she attended Patricia Stevens College in Omaha and then lived and worked in the Des Moines area. For the past 27 years, she worked for Meredith Corporation in a number of different positions, most recently as associate director advertising operations.

Vicki married Mitch Lundgren on February 3, 1996 in West Des Moines. She was an ISU football fan and enjoyed cooking, boating, traveling, golf, accompanying Mitch to NHRA drag racing, and still holds the record for catching the biggest family fish.

Vicki is survived by Mitch, her husband of 17 years; her mother, Marilyn Smith, of West Des Moines; brothers Mike Smith (Jen) of Waukee and Randy Smith of Windsor Heights; and one niece and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard, sister-in-law, Earlene Smith, and grandparents.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, January 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines, Iowa, with visitation preceding the service at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge.
