Jon “Dub” Cory, 69, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Sersland officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Jon “Dub” Cory, the son of Jack and Bernice (Wilson) Cory, was born August 2, 1943 in Enid, Oklahoma. He moved to Fort Dodge in 1958 and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1961. Then in 1963, he graduated from Fort Dodge Community College. In June of 1975, Dub married Barbara Larson and after 33 years working for USG he retired from there in 2005. Dub was currently employed at Fort Dodge Ford and enjoyed traveling and golfing. Dub was an avid bowler having started bowing in 1964 and was proud to have bowled several 300s. For the past eight years he has battled cancer with dignity and strength.

Dub is survived by his wife, Barb; sons, Bill (Jenny) Cory of Fort Dodge and Douglas (Anita) Heckman of Warren, Oregon; and a granddaughter, Olyvia Selby. He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and fatherin-law, and a sisterin-law Gayle Larson.
