Callender – Gary L. Gallentine, 66, of Callender, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 Friday, January 18, 2013 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Callender with Pastor Jon Rollefson officiating. Burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Thursday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie.

Gary is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Lee (Molly) Gallentine of Webster City; grandchildren, Morgan, Abby, Olivia, and Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mariam (Knudson) Gallentine; sister, Sharon Wilhelmi and infant sister, Diane.

Gary L. Gallentine was born April 13, 1946 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1964. He was employed at Treloar’s Restaurant and Del Porer’s Pancake Feast in Fort Dodge. Gary was united in marriage with Linda Schoonover on August 1, 1970 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. They established their home in Callender and in 1976 opened Gary’s Caf, which they owned and operated for over 35 years.

Gary loved talking with people, working in the field with his antique tractors, and spending time with his grandchildren.
