Jo McNally passed away January 2, 2013 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center where she had been suffering from Alzheimer’s.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday January 7 at the Celebration Center of Friendship Haven. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Jo was born Nedra Josephine Elliott in Lincoln, Illinois May 21, 1924. She married Jim McNally December 27, 1945 in Peoria, Illinois where they resided until they moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1952. She led a “colorful” life and was an avid golfer, the first to receive a pilot’s license in an all male fly club, loved to travel, was involved with her church, and a member of a local PEO Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Mae Elliott, her brother Bill Elliott, her son James D. McNally, and grandson Bryan Scripsick. She is survived by her husband Jim McNally of 67 years, daughters, Jo Dena Burzlaff (Alan), Jan Scripsick (John), and Jill Knight (Bill), eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
